Swinton coach in call for support

17/ 4/2008

SWINTON Lions coach Paul Kidd has called on the club’s supporters to turn out in numbers for their Challenge Cup tie against Oldham on Sunday at Sedgley Park.

Kidd believes his side can better their cup performance in the last three years by going into the fifth round with a win against a fellow National League Two side.

However, Swinton were dealt a blow with the news that Andy Saywell misses out due to a torn ankle ligament.

Kidd hopes to offset that disappointment by welcoming back either Richie Hawkyard or Craig Ashall.

Kidd said: "It would be great if the Swinton fans came out in numbers.

"Oldham will bring plenty of fans, so we need our supporters to be out in force."

Swinton beat London Skolars 34-24 at the weekend. The Oldham game kicks off at 3pm.
