GREAT Britain legend and former Swinton coach Mike Gregory sadly died this week
Tributes paid to ex-Lions coach

THE rugby league world has been paying tribute to former Swinton coach Mike Gregory who died this week.
The 43-year-old former Great Britain captain lost a long battle with motor neurone disease on Monday.
The man who brought him to Swinton, Tony Barrow, led the club’s tributes.
He said: “Rugby league has lost one of its all time greats. I have never known a nicer guy in the game, I could have trusted him with my life.
“As a player he was absolutely wonderful. I am immensely proud to say I had the honour to start him off as a professional. I then gave him the job at Swinton, he had so much to offer and its so sad. I am devastated.”
Salford City Reds director of football Steve Simms counted Gregory as a personal friend.
Simms said: “Everyone in the game knew Mike and I think that says it all.
“He was a great person and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for people.
“He did everything in the game - he represented his country and he was a gifted coach too. It is very sad, but he will never be forgotten.”
His funeral is at the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, Wigan, tomorrow (Friday) from 2pm.
