'Bell' of the ball

4/ 9/2008

SALFORD City have signed a player from the Football League for the first time in their history.

Adrian Bellamy has joined the Moor Lane club on a two-month loan deal from League Two side Bradford City.

Meanwhile, Salford City chairman Darren Quick has publicly heaped praise on manager Gary Fellows.

And he is believes that, with players like Lathan Forrester at Fellows’ disposal, UniBond League newcomers City can challenge for their second successive promotion.

Quick said: "Gary’s done brilliantly in keeping such a strong squad of players together for four seasons.

"Our promotion demonstrates this. His continuous work with all the lads – young and old – allows the team to grow.

"And, despite losing a couple of faces at the end of last season, Gary has found the right players to fill their boots.

"As for Forrester, he’s a really exciting winger. He will hopefully help us in getting us to where we want to be at the end of the season, which is the league play-offs."

Forrester is a product of City’s flourishing youth set-up.
