City set to seal promotion?

17/ 4/2008

SALFORD City could seal promotion to the UniBond League on Saturday when they travel to Bacup Borough.

The Ammies need just three points from their three remaining games to secure a runners up spot in the North West Counties division one.

If they achieve that they have the possibility of promotion.

Champions Trafford are already up and they did City a big favour by beating closest rivals Newcastle Town last weekend.

Salford received another boost when the Football Association recommended that UniBond division one side Alsager Town be relegated, which could possibly leave another promotion spot available.

City’s game against Runcorn Linnets was a casualty of the weather on Saturday as the Moor Lane pitch was water-logged after a heavy downpour.

The away game against Bacup kicks off at 3pm.
