City sign Steve

29/11/2007

SALFORD City have signed midfielder Steve Cunningham from Vodkat League rivals Colne.

Cunningham has put in some impressive performances when playing against the Moor Lane club in recent seasons.

But he is cup tied for next weekend’s home FA Vase clash with Hallam – a Sheffield-based club which is considered to be the second oldest surviving football club in the world.

Before that, City host third-placed Newcastle Town in the league on Saturday, December 1, kick-off 3pm.

Salford’s scheduled league game at Flixton at the weekend was postponed due to overnight frost and heavy early morning rain.

But results elsewhere, with Newcastle Town losing and Maine Road being held to a draw, ensured that City stayed top of the table, a point ahead of Trafford.
