Charity night tickets
9/ 3/2006
MORE than 100 tickets are still waiting to be sold for a charity night in aid of Hope Hospital's threatened maternity unit.
Elaine Bates and Namita Webster decided to organise the event on Friday, March 10 to show their support for the unit which could be closed under plans by Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority.
There are 250 tickets for the night at Patricroft Working Men's Club but so far less than 150 have been sold.
Around a dozen companies have pledged prizes for a raffle on the night, which kicks off in the Legh Street club at 8pm.
Namita, from Barton, said: "We thought the tickets would fly out but we've really been struggling. I don't think people realise what we're trying to do but we want to show our support to Hope and the staff that work there."
Winton councillor John Pooley will be drawing the raffle and a Hope Hospital matron will be collecting a cheque on the night.
For tickets contact Elaine on: 07746 438633 or call into The Larder cafe at Salford Shopping City, which is providing a buffet for the event free of charge.
