Stadium recognition
2/ 3/2006
In one article regarding the Salford City Reds' planned new stadium, the Salford Advertiser referred to Manchester City Council's concerns over the retail enabling element of the plan as a "campaign."
The paper now accepts this position was expressed in a letter from head of planning Peter Babb and, on the basis of this letter alone, does not represent a campaign by Manchester City Council against the proposed stadium.
As reflected in many previously published articles, the Salford Advertiser recognises Manchester City Council's official position of supporting the principle of the new stadium.
The Salford Advertiser also accepts Manchester City Council's position on its commitment to working with Salford for the mutual benefit of both cities and the wider region.
