A FANS' eye view of the new stadium
Stadium will be among the best
14/ 4/2005
SALFORD City Reds' new stadium will be one of the most striking buildings in the region.
Designed by Arup Associates - the architects who drew up plans for the award-winning City of Manchester Stadium, Sydney Stadium and Cardiff's Millennium Stadium - the transparent roofing of the lower stand will give motorists on the M60 a dramatic bird's-eye view right onto the pitch.
The 20,000-seater, £35m stadium will boast 30 corporate hospitality boxes, conference and banqueting facilities and a 208-bedroom four-star hotel complete with piano bar and gym.
It will be one of the first stadia in the UK to include a safe standing area as a direct response to the wishes of Salford fans.
