Lifeline for single parents is dynamite!

CHART-TOPPING Dynamite backing has been given to a charity which supports Salford's single parents.

Hip-hop diva Ms Dynamite has pledged her support to the Single Parent Action Network which single parents call to find out information on anything which affects them - from benefits to concerns about their children.

Ms Dynamite has said that the lifeline the charity throws to parents is vital in Salford, where 65 per cent of the city's 8,200 single parent families rely on Income Support.

She said: "Single Parent Action Network offers the kind of information and support I know helps single parents. I am part of a single parent family household and this has raised my awareness of the issues affecting one parent families."

Annie Oliver, the charity's information office manager added: "Single parents have been having a really hard time lately with the changes in the family credit.

"We'd like to offer them information about anything - going back to work, childcare, benefits, housing, legal issues, training, concerns about their children, meeting other single parents, someone to talk to and all the other issues experienced by single parents."
