Pupils do wheely good job for town

STUDENTS who raised £23,000 for a new BMX park- Chris Frain, Mark Dennison, Robert Jones, Edward Stubbs, Chris Higham and Aaron Wilkinson have won a national award in recognition of their contribution to their community.
The six pupils from Irlam and Cadishead Community High were presented with the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Award by Eccles MP Ian Stewart for their hard work.
School learning mentor Angela Furness, who nominated them, said: "They had had no recognition outside the school for raising such a huge amount of money and I though they deserved some.
"Usually when you hear about young people it's something negative so it's nice to hear something positive. We are very proud of the boys."
