Man "critical" after road accident

A PEDESTRIAN is fighting for his life after colliding with a car in Pendlebury on Saturday.

Forty-year-old Ian Phillpotts, of Dronfield Road in Salford, was left with serious head injuries after the accident in Manchester Road, Pendlebury, near to its junction with Hartspray Avenue.

He collided with a Toyota Yaris driven by Shaun Livesey, of Ramclough Road, Pendlebury.

Mr Phillpotts was taken to Hope Hospital where his condition was described as "critical, but stable".
