Thanks for making tin appeal a big success

A BIG thank you to all our generous readers who have helped make this year's Advertiser Tin Appeal the biggest and best yet!
Thousands of tins, packets, boxes and cartons poured into our office in response to our call to help lift festive spirits for the elderly and needy families.
Salford City Council social services distributed truckloads of parcels throughout the city and have been staggered by the generosity of our readers.
A spokeswoman said: "We are absolutely delighted by the enormous amount of tins which have been handed over. They will make Christmas very special for elderly people and needy families in Salford."
