Salford man arrested in armed robbery bust

A 21-YEAR-OLD man from Salford was among four arrested yesterday (Tuesday) by police on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery on a cash in transit van.

The arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation, codenamed Operation Strike. The operation which is being coordinated by the Greater Manchester Police Robbery Unit, aims to target the activities of armed robbers in the Greater Manchester area.

Also arrested were a 19-year-old man from Ordsall, a 19-year-old man from Moston, and a 2-year-old man from Middleton.
