10-year-old boy in HGV terror

A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy was fighting for his life after an accident with a heavy goods vehicle.

Kaine Gorton was sent to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury suffering serious head injuries after the accident, which happened in Langley Road South, Charlestown just before 5pm last Wednesday (December 5).

The condition of the youngster, from nearby Whit Lane, was described as "improving" by a hospital spokesperson.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the accident to call the traffic unit on 856 5072.
