A MAN has been charged with three counts of theft after up to £6,500 was stolen from phone boxes.
Alan Portwood, 31, of Carrfield Avenue, Little Hulton, also had a further 27 offences to be taken into consideration.
Another man Mark West, 36, of Shakerley Road, Tyldesley, has also been charged with three counts of theft with a further 27 offences to be taken into consideration.
Both men have been remanded in custody.
The charges follow a police investigation into allegations that up to £6,500 was stolen from phone boxes across Greater Manchester since the end of January 2010.
