Traditional homes with an eco twist
21/ 7/2008
A NEW development of traditional three-bedroom semis in Swinton is being constructed to the latest eco standards.
Energy efficient lighting, water conservation technology and tri-coloured recycling bins are all fitted as standard at Knight’s Grove, off Moorside Road.
The 12 homes meet the Eco Homes Very Good Standard, a tried and tested environmental measure for sustainable homes.
Seddon Homes sales and marketing director, Denis Maddock, said: “While these homes are built to traditional styles and methods they still incorporate modern eco credentials and contemporary specifications.
“With rising utility prices and tighter family budgets, the installation of energy efficient lighting, full insulation and water conservation measures will considerably reduce household bills.
“Water butts and fitted recycling bins in the kitchen all come as standard.”
The three bedroom homes, some with their own garage, are set in a cul-de-sac in a quiet, wooded environment within walking distance of local shops and parks and nearby Worsley with its renowned Bridgewater Canal.
Knight’s Grove has easy access to the A580 East Lancs Road and the M62. Bus and train services provide regular connections between Swinton and central Manchester.
Seddon Homes is part of the Seddon Group, which was founded in nearby Little Hulton, Salford, in 1897, by bricklayer brothers George and John Seddon.
It is now one of the UK’s biggest privately-owned construction groups.
