10/ 4/2008

THREE men were seriously injured after being ‘viciously’ attacked in three separate stabbings in the space of one hour.

Detectives are linking the attacks which happened on nearby streets in Clifton.

The first incident happened when three men burst into a house in Dover Road at around 5.30pm on Sunday, April 6.

They launched a frenzied attack on the 38-year-old man which left him with serious injuries to his head and body. He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Shortly after 6.30pm, a 28-year-old man was attacked in his home in Buckingham Road and again, left with serious injuries. He was treated in hospital, but has now been released.

Superintendent Ian Palmer, from Swinton Police Station, said: "Three men have been left with serious injuries following three separate, vicious attacks.

"Although these incidents are shocking, I would like to reassure the community that these sort of attacks are extremely rare.

"Extra high-profile police patrols have been put in place and we are doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice."
