Charges after drugs raid

NINETEEN people have been arrested after police raided homes across the city.

Those arrested in the dawn raids on Tuesday, April 8 are currently being questioned at police stations across the county.

They were arrested on suspicion of supplying or concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Most of the raids took place in the Eccles area, plus homes in Pendleton, Langworthy and Swinton.

THE following people have since been charged with various drug offences including the supply of Class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and were due to appear before Salford Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday 9 April):

  • Graham Jennings (born 07/04/1978) of Schofield Road, Eccles
  • Ann Marie McDonald (born 01/11/1977) of Monton Lane, Eccles
  • Darren Perkins (born 12/02/1970) of Mellor Street, Eccles
  • Carl Hulme (born 17/01/1968) of Vaughan Street, Winton
  • Andrew Holt (born 30/05/1966) of Sarah Street, Patricroft
  • Jason Harris (born 22/04/1971) of Beech Street, Patricroft
  • William Ferguson (born 28/07/1981) of Cromwell Road, Eccles
  • Brian Aldred (born 01/09/1975) of Worsley Road, Winton
  • Andrew Grimes (born 03/05/1969) of Walker Green, Salford
  • Daniel Townsend (born 22/01/1988) of Overlinks Drive, Salford
  • Simon Galliano (born 22/09/1968) of Chatley Road, Salford
  • Bernard Berry (born 13/04/1968) of Hall Bank, Salford
  • Russell Stone (born 24/12/1967) of no fixed abode.

Wayne Woodhead (born 27/08/1969) of Monton Lane, Eccles, was charged with possession of Class A drugs.

A 34-year-old man, a 27-year-old man, a 42-year-old man and a 36-year-old man arrested as part of the operation remain in police custody for questioning.

One man who was arrested has been released without charge.
