St George's R.C. High is a co-educational comprehensive

St. George's R.C. High School is a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided co-educational comprehensive school, which takes pupils in the 11-16 years age range. The school was built to serve the Catholic population of the Worsley area.
St George's is a Roman Catholic community which seeks to encourage the growth of the whole person, self esteem and service to Jesus Christ, to each other, and the wider community.
The ethos of St George's is made real in the day-to-day life of the school. The distinctive nature of this Catholic school is to be found in the Religious Education programme together with school worship and celebration. It is demonstrated in the life of the school, its members, and in the values promoted in every aspect of the curriculum and activities in the school. At St George's, the curriculum is the servant of the school’s purpose and not the leader. The task is to develop each child to his or her full potential. 
The school recognises the distinctiveness of each person, and ensures that each person's worth is recognised. The aim to give every pupil an equal share of resources and a commitment to individual excellence. Realistic and positive appraisal is encouraged and teachers are mindful of the fact that pupils develop at different rates throughout their schooling.
The staff are aware of having a relativly short time in which to educate the whole person for life and strive to help each pupil to make moral decisions and take responsibility in a rapidly changing world.
