Best ever exams results at St Patrick's

St Patrick's RC High School and Arts College’s 50th anniversary has coincided with the best ever examination results in the school’s history.
The number of pupils achieving five A* - C this year was a staggering 87.1 per cent placing the school amongst the top performing schools in the country.
‘Value Added’ indicators and the number of pupils achieving a grade C or above in English and maths are equally indicative of high performance. These results are nothing out of the ordinary for the newly appointed Senior Leadership team, the progressive trend upwards is now well established over the past few years and even greater academic success is anticipated this year.
All of year nine are now early entered for at least two GCSEs. They complete this in one year and 40 per cent of KS4 pupils start one or more AS level subjects in Year 10.
The school’s achievements in the visual and performing arts are well documented. Everyone has heard of the high profile actors and actresses who either attend or have attended the school, such as: Isabel Hodges (Victoria in Emmerdale), Robert Collier (Liam Connor in Coronation Street,) Samia Ghadie (Maria Sutherland in Coronation Street), Siobhan Moynihan (Drop Dead Gorgeous and Holly Oaks) and Rebecca Atkins in various roles. The school’s profile as a lead visual arts college is even more significant: the prestigious awards speak for themselves such as coming first in Canon’s national photographic competition or the numerous exhibitions, nationally and locally, including the Lowry in Salford.
Headteacher Barbara Rogers feels the key to the school’s success  is its focus on core values, respecting pupils’ unique talents and  then personalising the curriculum to meet this challenge. The Catholic ethos genuinely pervades the whole school community. Pupils like to come to school and demonstrate this by maintaining the highest attendance rate in Salford. Visitors to the School are struck by the calm purposeful atmosphere matched by pupils’ polite and kind attitude to staff and each other. The gifted and committed staff provide a rich dynamic and collaborative learning environment that engages and encourages all to achieve.
