Oh please, spare us the dramatics!
If the development is valid then it will be passed. Problem is....most of the proposed development is un-necessary and non-essential, as far as planning laws go. In this I refer to the Retail Park, the hotels, the never ending Fast Food outlets vying for trade against the existing multitudes already swamping Eccles and surrounding districts.
Come on, we're not all stupid, evidently, these 'add-ons' are the financial incentive...not the stadium.
Oh and by the way.... The 'Reds' WILL be leaving Salford and re-locating to 'ECCLES'. May I ask are they intending to change their name to 'Eccles Reds' when or should I say if they re-locate.
I would have thought that any chairman, having such a long term commitment, would have his priorities firmly set and remain loyal to his club whatever the outcome. Surely, its the quality of the team that counts not the glamorous surroundings!
Totally disgusted! BM

If the plans go ahead, the stadium will be out of the city anyway. It won't be in Salford, it'll be in the town of Eccles.
Salford 5, 6 and 7 are the city of Salford, not Eccles 30 or any other surrounding area.

Get real. It's about time some of the people involved in this scheme got in touch with reality. The traffic problems alone don't bear thinking about. I can hear the sound of Salford Reds fans getting stuffed from here. Its not the place and its not the time. This stadium has nothing to do with rugby but everything to do with greed.
