Gran jailed after drugs swoop
1/ 5/2008
A GRANDMOTHER caught dealing heroin is among 20 people convicted of drugs offences after a major operation by police in Salford.
In October last year more than 100 officers carried out a series of raids on homes in Little Hulton and Walkden after months of intelligence gathering.
Best anti drugs campaign ever "if you take drugs this is what will happen to you"

Well done the police, pity the sentences were not a lot longer, that would have sent a message that drugs will not be tolerated. (2)

The smart approach would be to legalise, tax and regulate hard drugs.
It would ensure that the user knows exactly what they are buying, it would take the criminal gangs out of the supply chain, it would free up the police to deal with other crimes and it would bring in more revenue, which could be directed at providing treatment.
Prohibition has proven to be an expensive failure.

Three years is nothing. When an individual is supplied with heroin, they lose all quality of life. In three years those enabled the addiction will be free, is that just? Besides, for a dealer, prison is an oportunity: a wealth of contacts to be made and vulnerable people to exploit. However, the police offers and community members who helped with this investigation are not in control of the British judicial system and must be congratualted on their outstanding contribution to the local community.

I hope one day addiction comes knocking on her door by way of a family member. Then she will witness first hand what misery and dispair hard drugs do to a person and the infliction she has caused on others.

Not a bad result, but these look like the ones who sell it on the street, the big players are harder to catch because of all the money they have got.
No it's time to take all addicts of the street and give them heroin in a secure, holiday camp style enviroment.
Before we do this we must collect evidence of the big players so we can arrest them and seize their assets.
Fighting this type of crime costs millions, we'd probably save money if we took these addicts of the streets and gave them pure heroin.
We could do a deal with Karzie and spend money on opium instead of just giving them money. The opium would acheive the above result.

Dealing in heroin carries the death sentence in some countries. Many of my friends and aquintences who stupidly tried this evil drug when it came available and cheap in the 1980s are now dead or if they are not ,its sorry to say that they might as well be,nobody surrvives this drug intact. I dont see the point in arresting this scumbag and her cronies to give them light sentences.

I bet this grandmother had a lot of 'sympathy' for people who were abused in their childhood and are supplying them with drugs to 'block' out their pain! Of course she will never question where the money come from.
