Parents devastated by school closures

Ailsa Cranna

CAMPAIGNERS have vented their anger at the decision to close two inner city primary schools despite a spirited battle to save them.

Parents fighting to retain North Grecian Street and Charlestown primary schools have been told their efforts are in vain.

Both schools will close at the end of the summer term in 2010 and pupils will be transferred to a new school to be built on the former Wheaters Crescent housing estate in Lower Broughton.

Whine Whine Babble babble you cannot stand in the way of progress. Shirley Hufsteddler said “You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” Take it onboard Mr Gauld, Mr Sotata and Mr Leary and the Little Hulton moaners. Salford will be a 21st Century city.

Dekka needs a brain transplant if he believes that hair length dictates intelligence: just look at me. Either way, Warmisham and Merry, you have played with the minds of constituents living on the periphery and now you commence piling injustice on inner city Salfordians. To utilise our local dialect you are 'way out ov order' and you know it. Are you being subsidised by a construction company councillors and receiving help towards your retirement fund or just setting out an agenda for change - complete destruction of our City? ps Dekka - why are you scared of men with hair. Daniel, we salute you. Fight the Good Fight

Who will this benefit: the people or the backpockets of the government? Simple answer: the government, they have never done anything for the public

Suprise suprise Salford City Council ride roughshod over their electors desires. Boring news Advertiser - they do this on a daily basis.

The opinions of parents, pupils and staff of North Grecian Street and Charlestown Primary schools have been despatched into a magenta dustbin/ice rink/ BBC media city/ BBC orchestra.

In scraping these two primaries John Merry and the Crazy gang heve ignored transport implications...good idea let's get more school run traffic on roads...carbon footprint.. who cares..children's services..good idea scrap popular, full primary schools...planning..good idea....build new houses in Lower Broughton but don't provide a local school...

In this case John Merry and the crazy gang may have got something right they allowed the schools to present their case to the School Adjudicator.

But they don't have the nerve to take St. George's in Little Hulton to the Adjudicator.

May elections you know what to do...........

I should think so. Have you seen the state of these two schools, they should have been condemned years ago.Children from these two schools and the future generations deserve better surroundings to be taught in. The headteacher also looks like he needs a good wash and a haircut.
