Watson: Glad to be alive

31/10/2007

OPERA singer Russell Watson was discharged from hospital today following life-saving surgery on his brain tumour last week.

Watson, 40, emerged from the doors of the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, Cheshire, pushed in a wheelchair and flanked by his daughters Hannah, eight, and Rebecca, 13. He was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a grey scarf, and was very emotional as he gave spoke briefly to waiting media.

It was very emotional seeing Russell leaving the hospital today, he has been incredibly brave. I am so relieved he has come through the op. and although there is a long road ahead for him, I know he can do it , he has already shown what great strength of character he has. Sending you love & best Wishes Russell , thinking of you always Sandra
