Steal her style: Chinyere

Dianne Bourne
26/ 2/2008

EVERY week we're out on the style scene scouting out you fabulous fashionistas.

This week Diary Editor Dianne Bourne caught up with the fabulous Chinyere McKenzie, who runs dance and arts organisation All Street in Moss Side and used to be a member of Simon Webbe's protégé band VS.

And notice a splash of WAG-tastic super-style?

That's because Chinyere's boyfriend happens to be Sunderland footballer Dickson Etuhu.

How would you describe your style?

I'm in a transition period at the moment from being young-20s to mid-20s. But I'd say funky, and a bit tomboy-feminine.

Where did you buy today's outfit and how much did it cost?

Cardigan: Cruise, £105 in sale

Belt: Cruise, £65 in sale

Jeans: Evisu, £150

Bangle: from Spain, £2

Shoes: D&G, £160

Handbag: YSL, £1,000

Who is your style icon?

My sister Tashi Brown - she was in Britain's Next Top Model and she's a total style icon so if I ever need help, I just ask her!

Name your favourite shops.

I love a bargain so anywhere on sale. But I also like Zara for bits and bobs and I also like scouring charity shops and markets.

What's your best ever buy?

I've bought a pair of jeans today for £60 from Zara. They were a nice buy.

What's your biggest fashion mistake?

When I was in the band VS a make-up artist put bright red lipstick on me and blue eyeshadow. It was awful. It was so bad I actually cried!

How much do you usually spend on clothes each month?

Because I work a lot I don't usually spend a lot, it's only for special occasions I'll really spend.

What item of clothing can't you live without?

A good cardigan or coat. You can hide everything under it!
