Soapbox: Everyone's miserable - how festive!
Rachel Broady16/12/2005
CORONATION STREET Foot fetishist Phil tries to get his trotters under the table at Gail's by moaning about spending the festive period alone.
But David isn't thrilled about Lurch staring at them over the
turkey so tries to break into his house and gets nicked. He's
probably looking for an axe. You can't blame him, really.
Eileen conveniently hears that Todd won't be home for Christmas and
is plunged into misery until she bumps into Phil, who is equally
frustrated with the family. Gail's family. Fingers crossed they
find some mistletoe and a pumice stone for Eileen's pleasure!
Charlie wants to spend Christmas Day with Tracy (but she's the
Grinch!) and insists she hands over Amy to Steve for the day. Of
course, she doesn't like the idea but will she back down and give
up her daughter to keep her man? I'm not sure who I'm more
concerned about in this pairing.
And how many goths does it take to change a lightbulb? None, but
one has to light the candle. Yes, Rosie and Craig find themselves
fumbling in the dark after a romantic evening and declarations of
love that lead upstairs. Mucky little blighters!
EMMERDALE As Christmas approaches the village is
plunged into depression. And, be warned, they're trying to take us
with them.
Debbie doesn't love Sarah, still, and decides to give her away to
Emily just after the christening. Emily leaves the village in a
taxi and dad Andy is heartbroken.
Alice, meanwhile, worries that she may not live to see the
christening of her own child but a talk with cancer survivor Diane
cheers her a little until Debbie shouts at her for "being selfish",
you know for planning to die and leave Sam behind.
And Steph is struggling to cope with the revelation that her
brother may return to the village.
You'd think she'd also struggle to cope with wearing the sort of
jewellery that would floor Mr T. Well, someone had to make a joke
it's reet miserable in t'countryside!
EASTENDERS Martin is feeling insecure about Sonia.
Not because he fears she's going to return to the Moomins but
because of her recent lesbian shenanigans. She eventually moves out
and Martin tells Pauline that Sonia won't be with them for
Christmas. I think Pauline should get the posh crockery out in
celebration!
