The Big Picture: Modern Originals

AN exhibition featuring the work of future stars of art, design and architecture opened this week in Manchester.

MMU@CUBE 18 Modern Originals features examples of work done by graduates who have just left Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Art and Design.

A selection of pieces from this year's degree show, the exhibition at CUBE in Portland Street contains a wide range of styles including photography, embroidery, 3D design and architecture.

Organisers say the pieces are examples of work by the future big names, caught at the beginning of their careers, and are likely to provoke and intrigue the viewers.

It includes furniture made from flame-scorched wood, video performances, such as a woman in an insect suit wriggling down an urban street, and installations.

MMU@CUBE is on display until July 29.
