BIG PICTURE: Poles apart from politics
by Rachel Broady7/ 4/2005
Trynkler focuses on what she sees as the internal battle inside us all, a battle of the imaginable and the possibilities with limitations and constraints.
She says her work is "an attempt to search for relations between culture and nature, between the immaterial and the real, between energy and matter".
She yearns for a deeper understanding of her imagined world and the world of reality and even of the "mysterious place" she says exists between the two.
"It is also strife-torn between what is imaginable and the possibilities and limitations," she said of her work. "Constrained by the difficulties of transferring thoughts or imagination onto the two dimensional space of canvas or paper."
Her work is colour-rich and exuberant made up of bold vertical compositions. It is held in private collections across the world and has also been exhibited internationally.
Between Heaven and Earth is showing at Blyth Gallery, Brazil Street, Manchester, until May 7
