Salford Expats

ARE you a former resident of Salford who has moved abroad and who wants to get back in touch with people still living in the town? Do you know of friends or family who have moved overseas and you want to try and track them down? Well here's your chance ...

In this section, we're giving an opportunity for people who were parted when locals decided to make new lives overseas to make contact once again.

If you are an ex-pat, who wants to know the whereabouts of a pal or relative, send us the details and we'll post them up here. The same is true of locals - let us know if you want to get back in touch with a local who has left these shores. You never know - they might just visit this site, read your message and you could be reunited.

Alternatively, ex-pats can write to us simply if they want to let the folks back home know what they've been up to, how life overseas is treating them, and what they miss about Salford.

   I want to say a big "Thank You", to The Salford Advertiser for your Ex-pats corner. Because of you,I have made contact with with a neighbour, whom I knew as a kid.I am also coresponding with George Patterson who lives in Brisbane, Australia. We were both born in 'anki park.    Hi my name is Rebecca Lamb and I am writing on behalf of my grandmother OLIVE THOMAS. Olive lived at RUDMAN STREET SALFORD from 1923 -1944 and is now aged 85. She attended REGENT ROAD SCHOOL until she was 14. She had 2 older brothers ALBERT and HAROLD THOMAS.

Olive moved to Norwich in 1944 to marry and still lives here with her family.
